Here's a Little Sunshine

We have a Crazy Egg Challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks because this month has 5 Thursdays. When there are 5 Thursdays we have an easy peasy challenge "ANYTHING GOES" for #344.  Our wonderful hostess this week is our one and only Leanne from Banking On Crafts.

The card above I made for my dad to give to my grandma. For it seems like forever my grandma has called my dad an old goat and my dad calls her an old crow.  Dad wanted to do something to make my grandma smile after her stroke.  It took me a while to find the right images that dad wanted but when I did the card just happened. It was a craft day with my mom and this card met with my dad's approval. The best part was that my grandma laughed when she saw it. Nothing better than making my parents and grandma happy.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Creates and Makes Challenge - Challenge #10 - Anything Goes/ optional Springtime
Die Cuttin Divas - Challenge #310 - Anything Goes (dies are the circle (stampin Up), clouds are my (favorite things)

Seasons Greetings

Welcome to my blog! Today, I am super excited to share my card with you for Season's Greeting Christmas Challenge #4.  It is always ANYTHING GOES with a twist. You can use the inspiration picture below if you would like.
I used colors from the inspiration picture above. It took me several days to finish it because my mind was blocked. My mom was here and gave me suggestions and had fun breaking out two new dies from Gina Marie Designs. All of the paper is from Stampin Up and I must say the new glitter paper is fabby. The word dies are from Elizabeth Craft Designs. The snowman tag was colored up for me to use and seemed to work perfectly for this card. Hope you like it!

I would love to enter my card into the following challenges:
Hiding in My Craft Rooming - Challenge #294 - Any Holiday (Christmas)
The Corrosive Challenge - Challenge #3 - March Anything Goes
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge - Challenge #326 - Anything Goes as long as Christmas/optional twist: inspired by a Christmas song or carol.

Rose Garden Thinlits

Happy Spring! It is so nice to hear those words but I am truly looking forward to the warmer temperatures and no snow. It was an exhausting, emotional week but the silver lining was seeing my mom/dad, our boys & Summer, plus special friend's one that just had surgery. Praying for this next week to be better.

We have a brand new challenge over at 4 Crafty Chicks and Lori is our hostess. Lori challenged us to break out our DIES/PUNCHES for Challenge #343. Super easy right? Well, believe it or not, I struggled with which dies and punches to break out. It was too funny because so many were calling my name.  So I headed off to Pinterest to get some ideas.

I really wish I could say this layout was my idea but it wasn't. I "Cased" this card from www.stampsnlingers.com. A few changes for my card. I don't have as many layers on the inside of the card and my inside rose is not on white. My paper/pattern paper is Pool Party, Basic Black and Whisper Whtie from Stampin Up. The die used is called Rose Garden Thinlits by Stampin Up. I believe this style could be used for any occasion.

I would love to enter my card into the following challenges:
AAA Cards - Challenge #86 - Die Cuts
The Paper Players - PP 336 - Clean and Simple by Joanne

Our Guest Designer and my fellow Chicks in the Hen House have tons of great inspiration for you. Please check them out and come join us with your creative makes.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thank You and Buttons

It is 4 Crafty Chicks time and I am the hostess for Challenge #342 and I would love to see you break out your button stash.

The above card was inspired by this card on Pinterest made by Linda Aarhus.
My card at the top of the post was made as a single layer card. I also used the pieces that I cut out on the bottom portion. The stamp was used from Verve and then some twine was added to the bottom for a bit of pop. I cut my strips a little smaller so the corners could be cut off.

Thank you so much for popping in. Sending smiles your way!

Lovely as A Tree, With Sympathy

Happy Thursday to you! Nance is our hostess this week at 4 Crafty Chicks. With this being March we are all waiting for spring to come. Nance has set our challenge #341 with "SPRING FEVER with a twist of sponging". Nance had me breaking out my sponges again.

CHALLENGE #340 - "SPRING FEVER USING SPONGING"
My card above was stamped using Lovely As A Tree. The ink was Memento Tuxedo Black. I tried to create a sunset behind the trees. Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black. Different Stampin Up inks.

The style of card is on Pinterest and tried to put my own spin on it. Her card is way more beautiful (librus).  I used sponges but she used a brayer.  My reasoning for choosing this image was thinking the start of spring before the leaves come out on the trees and the beautiful sunsets.

I would love to enter my card into the following challenges:

Thank you so much for joining me today.  Have an amazing day!

With Sympathy

Good morning! We saw a bit snow the last night and the temperature has dropped from the gorgeous temps last week. However, we know that spring will be coming and a month or two. We enjoyed a fun night last night watching our daughter play basketball. It is hard to believe that their basketball season is just about over.

Lori is our hostess this week at 4 Crafty Chicks and she is asking you all to break out your STENCILS FOR CHALLENGE #339. My fellow DT's have amazing inspiration for you too.

The card above was made for our family friends who lost their son suddenly on Thanksgiving weekend in October. I never seem to have these type of cards made up ahead of time and well they are never easy to make. The stencil I used is one I bought at Walmart and then broke out my Stampin Up inks. The stamp and sentiment are from Verve one of my favorite sets. Although tons of people make beautiful creations with stencils, I always thought I would mess it up somehow. A truly wonderful challenge for me. Thanks, Lori.

I would love to enter my card into the following challenges:
Artistic Inspiration Challenge Blog - Challenge #173 - Anything Goes
Crafting from the Heart - Challenge #147 - Anything Goes

Thank you so much for popping in and sharing my newest make with me. Thank you for all of your comments too.

Recipe:
Stamp: Verve
Paper: Whisper White and Basic Black
Ink: Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze, Memento: Tuxedo Black.
Accessories: Stencil, daubers

My card above is using heart charm and bells (that were a gift given too me).  The Merry Christmas Stamp and die were also a gift to me a while back. It was a perfect size for this layout.  My bows (ribbon is from Stampin' Up) were made with my bow maker. The image is under a circle embossing folder. Mitten Kitten image from Miss Daisy Stamps is colored using Copic markers. A brick embossing folder was used in the bottom layer for added texture.

On a personal note, I am excited to have some quality time with all of our kids. Happy Family Day to everyone.
